System solutions for the reliable renovation of static and non-static concrete components
PCI comes up trumps - product systems for “refurbishment, renovation and modernization” as part of the PCI annual campaign 2024
03.12.2024
As part of its annual campaign, Sika Trade Construction is presenting further system solutions for refurbishment, renovation and modernization, this time for concrete repair for structural and non-structural purposes. Whether for cosmetic repairs such as touch-up work and surface damage or for the repair of structural components such as balconies or columns - the various refurbishment systems offer simple and reliable overall solutions for concrete refurbishment.
The focus of the annual campaign “PCI comes up trumps - how winners renovate” is on various system solutions with harmonized products for renovation, refurbishment and modernization. Craftspeople benefit from reliable complete solutions with which even demanding renovation tasks can be completed easily and reliably. The eighth focus of the annual campaign is on simple and reliable concrete renovation for structural and non-structural components.
Repairing concrete - from walls to columns and balconies - requires products that are specially adapted to the needs of the respective renovation project. In particular, the question of whether the structure is load-bearing or non-load-bearing plays an important role here. Sika Trade Construction provides suitable product systems for both applications.
System for concrete repair without static requirements (e.g. cosmetic repairs)
The products are very easy to smooth and apply and ensure a very good bond to concrete, masonry and screed due to their non-sag properties and adhesive strength. The product system also scores for its speed - it can be reworked after around four hours. Thanks to its water resistance and resistance to weather conditions and de-icing salt, it is suitable for multiple use both indoors and outdoors.
System for concrete repair with static requirements (e.g. columns and balconies)
This product system impresses with its light, smooth processing behavior and good non-sag properties and is very reliable - even when working overhead. The extremely low shrinkage ensures optimum load transfer and prevents cracks. In addition, the structure is waterproof, resistant to weather conditions and de-icing salt and meets the requirements of RiLi-SIB and ZTV-ING. This ensures a high level of planning and reliability in application.

“Damaged areas on concrete components are often far more than just a cosmetic problem. Particularly in the case of columns, balconies or staircases, the craftspeople must also take the statics of the building into account. And, of course, the result should not only be technically flawless, but also visually appealing. PCI product systems make work easier for craftspeople in this demanding area: “With harmonized products, they precisely meet the requirements of concrete repairs with or without structural requirements,” says Fabian Ladenburger, Head of Marketing Building Materials & Tiling Trade.

System for concrete repair without static requirements (e.g. cosmetic repairs)
- Repair mortar: PCI Nanocret R2 (lightweight repair mortar for multiple use for concrete components and masonry)
- Leveling compound: PCI Nanocret FC (fiber-reinforced concrete filler for walls and ceilings); alternatively: PCI Barrafill L
- Optional surface protection: depending on the load-bearing properties, e.g. PCI Polyflex, PCI Betonfinish W, PCI Silconal AG, PCI Silconal 328 or PCI Barraseal Turbo

- Corrosion protection: PCI Legaran RP (corrosion protection for bridges and engineering structures to ZTV-ING)
- Repair mortar: PCI Nanocret R4 PCC (high-strength repair mortar for concrete components on walls, floors and ceilings); alternatively: PCI Nanocret R4 Rapid
- Leveling compound: PCI Nanocret FC (fiber-reinforced concrete filler for walls and ceilings)
- Surface protection: PCI Polyflex (elastic surface protection for facades and engineering structures)
